Kimani Ngunjiri Exposes Hassan Joho and Junet Mohammed's KSh 30M Dubai Trip

Kimani Ngunjiri, a Bahati MP, has sparked outrage after accusing Hassan Joho, the Mombasa Governor, and Junet Mohammed, a Suna East MP, of using KSh 30M to travel to Dubai to visit Raila Odinga.

According to Ngunjiri, the two politicians left the country on July 9, 2020, and traveled to Dubai on a private jet, sparking allegations of misusing public funds.

Ngunjiri claimed that the KSh 30M could have been used to benefit Kenyans, particularly the youth, who are struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Junet and Governor Joho used KSh 30M to go see a patient in Dubai and come back. If we were told that the money was used to pay hospital bills for Raila, we would have understood, but it's not shown that it was used for that purpose," Ngunjiri said.

He added that the money could have been used to develop the country and improve the lives of Kenyans.

Other politicians, including Bonny Khalwale, have also criticized the trip, with Khalwale saying, "This is how your taxes are used."

ODM, through its Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, has denied the allegations, saying that Joho and Mohammed are wealthy individuals who can afford to pay for their own trips.

Raila Odinga returned to the country on July 12, 2020, after undergoing treatment in Dubai.
