COVID-19: Kenya Records 497 New Cases, 5 Deaths

On July 14, 2020, Kenya confirmed 497 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 10,791.

According to a press briefing by Ministry of Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, the new cases were identified through testing of 4,922 samples over the last 24 hours.

Tragically, five more patients succumbed to the coronavirus disease, increasing the number of fatalities in the country to 202.

Seventy-one more people have also recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,017.

Of the 497 new cases, 480 are Kenyans and 17 are foreigners, with ages ranging from 2 to 81 years.

The cases are distributed across various counties, with Nairobi reporting the highest number of cases at 292, followed by Kiambu with 62 cases.

Other counties with significant cases include Kajiado (51), Machakos (30), Mombasa (28), and Busia (10).
