Kenya's COVID-19 Cases Surge to 10,791

On July 14, 2020, Kenya witnessed a significant surge in COVID-19 cases, with a record 497 individuals testing positive out of a sample of 4,922.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Mercy Mwangangi, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country has now reached 10,791.

Of the new cases, 480 are Kenyan citizens, while 17 are foreigners. The age range of those affected spans from two years old to 81 years old.

The breakdown of the new cases shows that 318 are males, while 179 are females.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health announced that 71 patients had been discharged from various health facilities across the country, bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,017.

Unfortunately, five more individuals succumbed to the virus, taking the total death toll to 202.
