DP Ruto Faces Backlash on Social Media ¶
Deputy President William Ruto has come under intense scrutiny on social media, with Kenyans expressing their frustrations and disappointment with his performance in office.
Using the hashtag #CongratulationsRuto, Kenyans have created mock campaign posters listing Ruto's 'achievements' and vowing to vote for him in the 2022 elections.
However, the hashtag has taken a different turn, with many users using it to criticize Ruto for his alleged failures, including corruption scandals and neglect of development projects.
One user, @Dmarigiri_, tweeted, 'Yeeessss! #CongratulationsRuto For being the worst ever Deputy president In kenya. You should now keep off 2022 succession talks and focus more on service delivery.'
Another user, @MachungwaMachu1, accused Ruto of using the money meant for the Arror and Kimwarer Dam projects to build a Ksh1.2 billion luxury home in Sugoi.
