Musalia Mudavadi Spells Out Conditions for Working with DP Ruto ¶
ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has outlined conditions under which he will work with Deputy President William Ruto, including Ruto's support for his presidential bid.
Speaking on July 4, 2020, Mudavadi said he would not support anyone in the 2022 elections like he had done in previous election years, but would instead run for the presidency himself.
He stated that he was ready to work with any politician, including DP Ruto, as long as they supported his presidential bid.
"We are tired of being told that we are working for William Ruto. Let me say that we welcome Dr Ruto as long as he supports our bid for the presidency," Mudavadi said.
Mudavadi also denied any existing rift between him and President Uhuru Kenyatta, stating that he was tired of people speculating that he was working for DP Ruto.
He condemned the police for disrupting meetings organized by him and his Ford Kenya counterpart, Moses Wetang'ula.
"When they are put to task, they are quick invoke the name of the president," Mudavadi said.
