On a historic day in Tanzania, President John Pombe Magufuli invited various artistes for lunch, where they performed his campaign songs ahead of the Tanzanian general elections on October 2020.

Among the artistes was Tanzanian songstress Zuchu, who was photographed crying before greeting the President. Her emotional reaction sparked a trending topic last weekend.

According to Zuchu, she was overwhelmed with joy when the President called her by her name, a moment she described as 'unforgettable.'

Zuchu told Wasafi Media, "I only have three months in the industry and I thought I’d greet the President after like ten years. It is not a small deal."

She further expressed her gratitude to the President for valuing everyone, saying, "My mother always told me patience is key. These are the fruits of patience if today the President knows me. I thank God for a loving President who values everyone."

Sharing a message of encouragement to young girls, Zuchu said, "Dreams do come true, believe it. I want to encourage young girls that don’t know when they are going to make it in life, I want to tell you that your day is coming, do not give up."
