Real Madrid are on the cusp of securing their third La Liga title in eight years after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Granada on Monday.
With two games remaining, a victory over Villarreal at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium on Thursday would seal the championship for Zinedine Zidane's side, regardless of Barcelona's result at the Camp Nou against Osasuna.
Granada, who have been the surprise package of the season after being promoted from the second tier last year, gave Madrid a scare with a second-half comeback led by Darwin Machis's 50th-minute strike.
However, Madrid held on for their ninth consecutive victory, with Sergio Ramos making a crucial clearance off the line in the dying minutes.
"Our vision when we start every season is to win the league," said Zidane. "There are two games left. We are close but we're not there yet."
Madrid's victory was a testament to their consistency throughout the season, and they will look to maintain their momentum against Villarreal on Thursday.
