Published on July 14, 2020, a Mediamax employee from the finance department tested positive for Covid-19, prompting the company to take immediate action.
According to an internal memo, the affected employee had already self-isolated at home, following mild symptoms.
Mediamax CEO Ken Ngaruiya confirmed the news, stating that the company had already begun tracing people who came into contact with the infected employee.
As a precautionary measure, the company locked down its third-floor offices, which are expected to be fumigated.
Mr. Ngaruiya also announced plans to decongest the office in a bid to control the spread of the novel disease.
Kenya has seen a surge in Covid-19 cases, with 189 new infections and 12 fresh deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 10,294.
