On July 13, 2020, a tragic incident occurred at a local bar in Mucagara Trading Centre, Kirinyaga County, where a 34-year-old man was stabbed to death.
The deceased, identified as Dennis Mwangi, was allegedly stabbed twice in the chest using a kitchen knife by a night guard at the bar.
According to reports, the victim died while being taken to Kianyaga Sub-county Hospital.
Gichugu Sub-county Police Commander Anthony Mbogo confirmed that one suspect had been arrested and was being interrogated in connection with the incident.
“Action will be taken against those responsible for the death of 34-year-old Denis Mwangi, I promise you,” said the police commander.
Angry residents, led by nominated MCA Caroline Muriithi, are demanding action against the suspect and the bar owner, citing this as not the first incident.
