Published on July 14, 2020, Gor Mahia coach Steven Polack has outlined plans to strengthen the team's attack by signing two top local strikers.

Polack's announcement comes after club chairman Ambrose Rachier revealed that the club has identified and negotiated with seven players who will join the team during the transfer window.

Among the new signings are two young top strikers whose names have not been revealed until the negotiations are finalized and they are officially unveiled.

Polack emphasized that he has chosen the best players to make an impact in CAF competitions and continue the team's dominance in the Kenyan Premier League and other domestic competitions.

“Chairman and I have been negotiating with the players, and as he said, we have identified seven good players. Among them are two young top strikers whose names I can’t reveal until we finalise the negotiations and we officially unveil them,” said Polack.

The team is aware that some of its players may soon leave due to expired contracts, but Polack is confident that the new signings will be equal to the task.

Defenders Joash Onyango, Charles Momanyi, and attackers Dickson Ambudo, Nicholas Kipkurui, and Boniface Omondi are among the players whose contracts have expired.

Gor Mahia has been searching for a lethal striker since the exit of Rwandan duo Meddie Kagere and Jacques Tuyisenge in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Midfielder Kenneth Muguna leads the team's scoring chart this season with eight goals, followed by Omondi with six goals.

Gor Mahia tops the league table with 54 points, seven more than second-place Kakamega Homeboyz with 10 matches to go.
