Akothee Ends Support for Boy She Adopted ¶
Kenyan singer and philanthropist Akothee has ended her support for a boy she adopted after learning he had a family.
She had been providing for him and his prosthetic legs, but he lied to her about being an orphan.
According to Akothee, she met the boy on the streets and was immediately drawn to his story. She provided him with a room to stay in and eventually took him to her home in Mombasa, where she clothed, fed, and pampered him.
She also paid for a new set of prosthetic legs to help him walk again, and even missed her daughter's surgery to be by his side when he took his first steps.
However, Akothee recently discovered that the boy had a family all along, and that he had been lying to her about being an orphan.
She revealed this in a painful Instagram post, stating that she had officially washed her hands of the situation and taken a step back.
Despite the lies and unfair treatment, Akothee has decided to open a business for the boy so that he can provide for his family.
She wrote, 'I had to learn how to detach the foundation from interfering with my private life and family life. Shadrack's family reappeared in the picture and the pressure was too much for me to handle. Moving forward, Shadrack has his own rented house fully paid for a whole year.'
