On July 13, 2020, Cameroon's government vetoed plans to host the African Champions League's final stages, citing concerns over the transmission of the novel coronavirus.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) had asked Cameroon to host the competition's semi-finals and final in September, following the postponement of the event in May due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Record winners Al Ahly and last year's runners-up Wydad Casablanca are set to face off in one semi-final, while Zamalek will take on Raja Casablanca in the other.
CAF has announced that the semi-finals will be played as single matches, with extra time and a post-match penalty shootout if necessary to decide the winner.
Additionally, CAF has allowed five substitutions per match for each team.
