Manchester United's pursuit of a top-four finish in the Premier League took a hit after a 2-2 draw against Southampton at Old Trafford on July 13.

Goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were not enough to secure all three points for the Red Devils, as Southampton's Armando Obafemi scored a stoppage-time equalizer to seal the draw.

United had taken the lead in the 20th minute through Rashford, who finished a crisp left-footed shot into the far corner after being set up by Martial.

Martial doubled the hosts' advantage three minutes later, ramming a rising drive past McCarthy off Bruno Fernandes' simple pass.

However, the Saints took advantage of United's laxity in the second half to punish Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men, with Obafemi netting the equalizer in stoppage time.

The result means Manchester United has now gone 18 matches without defeat in all competitions but missed out on a glorious chance to increase their chances of finishing in the top four.
