Kenya Power & Lighting Company PLC has been hit with a major blow as its entire board of independent directors resigned on Monday.

The resignation comes amid growing frustration with the work environment and disagreements over tariffs, according to sources.

“The board resigned out of frustration, problem with tariffs, failure by GOK to adjust the tariffs and failure to allow balance sheet restructure,” stated a source who wished to remain anonymous.

Kenya Power & Lighting Company PLC has expressed gratitude to the departing directors, thanking them for their commitment and dedicated service.

The utility firm's Board of Directors consists of a minimum of seven and a maximum of 10 directors, including a balance of executive and non-executive Directors.
