Ugandan and Kenyan Arrested with Explosives Detained for Further Investigation

On July 11, 2020, detectives in Kenya received intelligence reports that a Ugandan national and a Kenyan were involved in terrorism surveillance and intended to carry out an attack within the country.

Acting on this information, the detectives arrested 68-year-old Nasanga Ibrahim and 59-year-old Mohamed Ahmed Bisher in Chepkatet village, Uasin Gishu county.

During the arrest, the police recovered 2 kilograms of TNT explosives, 44 pieces of Noble's explosives, 7 detonators, and high explosives boosters among other items.

Senior Resident Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe has allowed the detention of the suspects for a further seven days to allow the Anti-Terror Unit Police to complete their investigations.
