Published on July 13, 2020, Ainabkoi Member of Parliament William Chepkut has taken a strong stance against Deputy President William Ruto over corruption allegations.
Chepkut claims that Ruto's focus on implementing projects across the country is merely a facade, with the second-in-command prioritizing huge profits over the welfare of common citizens.
The lawmaker has also accused Ruto of being preoccupied with fake projects that fail to materialize before completion, citing the example of KABUITO CONTRACTORS LTD.
“William Ruto has never been serious about projects; he is only concerned with huge profits and contractors,” Chepkut said.
Chepkut further alleged that Ruto has been pocketing billions from government projects to fund his election campaigns, pointing to the Rivertex-Kapkatembo road project as an example.
“The project was projected to cost over three billion shillings, but the work was completed for less than a billion. The pursuit of profits is undermining the role of integrity,” Chepkut added.
