Former Somali Prime Minister Hassan Abshir Farah passed away in Turkey at the age of 75, leaving behind a legacy of service to his country.
Farah held the post of Prime Minister between 2001 and 2003 under interim President Abdiqasim Salat Hassan, a period marked by significant challenges for Somalia.
Before his tenure as Prime Minister, Farah served as the mayor of Mogadishu in the 1970s, a position that gave him valuable experience in governance.
President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo paid tribute to Farah, saying he had played a positive role in the governance and development of Somalia.
The Somali government has formed a committee to organize a state funeral for Farah, but a date has not yet been set.
Meanwhile, the former president of the semi-autonomous Somali region of Puntland, Mohamed Abdi Hashi, has also passed away in Nairobi, Kenya.
Hashi served as Puntland's first vice-president and second president from 2004 to 2005, leaving behind a legacy of leadership in the region.
