On Sunday evening, a couple's lifeless bodies were discovered hanging from ropes in their two-room house in Kaumoni Village, Nguluni location, Machakos county.
The incident occurred after the couple, Dennis Pius, 28, and Susan Ndeto, 19, returned home from Nairobi following the lifting of cessation of movement into and out of Nairobi by the president.
According to a police statement, the woman's body was found naked, and the couple did not leave behind any suicide note.
The shocking discovery was made by the woman's mother, who had last spoken to her daughter on Sunday morning before her mobile phone went off.
The couple had been living in Kayole estate, Nairobi, but had travelled to their rural village on Friday.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with the two bodies taken to Kangundo Level Four Hospital mortuary.
