Kenya Army Helicopter Crashes in Machakos, Two Pilots Killed

Published on July 13, 2020, a Kenya Army helicopter crashed in Kithyoko, Machakos County, during a training flight.

The helicopter, with registration number AU003-539, crashed at around 11am at a farm, killing its two pilots instantly.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the helicopter was part of six American-made light-attack helicopter gunships acquired by the ministry in January.

The cause of the crash has not yet been established, and the ministry stated that the two pilots had been evacuated from the crash site.
