Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) has appointed Kiprono Kittony as its new board chair, effective immediately. The appointment comes after Samuel Kimani resigned on July 13, 2020, after serving as chairman since 2012.

Kittony replaces Kimani, who stepped down after four years in the position. He will remain on the board as an independent non-executive director for one more year.

According to NSE, Kittony was appointed after a thorough process, and he will take over from Kimani. The exchange also announced that Bob Karina will continue to serve as Vice-Chairman of the Board for the next year.

Kittony expressed his gratitude to the board for electing him as chairman, saying, "I appreciate the confidence of the board of the NSE upon my election as Chairman this morning."

Kittony has a wealth of experience in business leadership, having served as a non-executive NSE board member since 2018. He also previously served as President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce for two terms, from 2012.

Kittony is a well-known personality in business leadership circles in Kenya, and he chairs the board of Radio Africa Group and is the Chief Executive Officer of Capital Realtime Limited. He also serves as the chair of the Credit Reference Bureau Kenya Limited, AAR insurance Limited, and Mtech Limited.
