Dr Adisa Lugaliki, a dedicated doctor who lost her life to Covid-19, was laid to rest on [published_date] at her home in Ndalu Scheme, Bungoma County.
According to her eulogy, Dr Adisa was admitted to Aga Khan University hospital on July 5th, 2020, at 10 PM, and diagnosed with Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA).
Her condition worsened after testing positive for Covid-19 on July 7th, and she was transferred to the ICU. Tragically, she succumbed to complications arising from Covid-19 on July 10th, 2020, in the early morning hours.
Dr Adisa was remembered as a hardworking, loving, caring, and passionate citizen who saved many lives. She left behind twins, Kyle Kimilu and Kyla Ndinda.
Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) is a serious complication of type 1 diabetes that occurs when the body produces high levels of ketones due to extremely high blood sugar levels.
The symptoms of DKA can appear quickly and include frequent urination, extreme thirst, high blood sugar levels, and fruity-smelling breath, among others.
