Edith Kimani has put to rest years of speculation about her sexuality by proudly showcasing her long-term partner, Timothy Mbugua, on her social media platform.
On July 13, 2020, she shared a photo of herself and Mbugua, with the caption: 'We may not get to forever, but now is all I need.'
Kimani also took the opportunity to address a mean-spirited comment she had received, asking if she had 'quit the lesbians' club.
'I accidentally posted a comment and my response to someone trying to shame me re: sexuality,' she wrote. 'The post was 'so you're no longer lesbian.'
Kimani's response was clear and direct: '1. We don't do that here. 2. It's 2020. There's nothing shameful or embarrassing about being yourself. 3. Be better. Just be better. 4: 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈.'
Kimani's decision to speak out comes after years of being subject to judgment and speculation about her sexuality, largely due to the company she keeps.
However, with her recent post, Kimani has made it clear that she will no longer be silenced or shamed for being herself.
Below are photos of Kimani and her partner, Timothy Mbugua.
