On July 13, 2020, a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) helicopter crashed in Machakos County, sparking concerns about the safety of military operations.
The helicopter, a Hughes 500MD, was on a training flight when it crashed in the general area of Kithyoko, Machakos County.
Fortunately, the two pilots onboard were evacuated from the crash site, according to a tweet by the KDF.
The cause of the crash is yet to be established, and an investigation is likely to be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
