On July 13, 2020, Kenya's Health Cabinet Secretary, Mutahi Kagwe, announced that 12 more people had died due to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 197.
According to Kagwe, the country has recorded 189 new cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 10,294.
Of the deceased, 9 were being treated in various hospitals, while 3 were at home in Nairobi County.
Kagwe also stated that 65 people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,946.
"Among the 1,205 samples tested, 189 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases to 10,294. The most affected age group is between 5 and 14 years, while the oldest is 71 years," Kagwe said.
