Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has returned to Kenya after a three-week stay in Dubai for a minor hip surgery.

According to an insider, Odinga chose to return quietly to avoid causing drama, as reported by Nyakundi Report on July 12, 2020.

"The PM did not want his return to cause drama hence the timing and low-key events at the airport. He is fine and resting at home," said the source.

On Sunday, July 12, 2020, Odinga landed at JKIA aboard a luxurious Constellation Aviation Airline Airbus A318-112 (CJ) Elite A6-CAS, MS4211, which had 19 occupants, including Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Junet Mohamed.

Governor Joho and Junet Mohamed had left the country last Thursday to meet Raila, who was recuperating in Dubai, and had informed the public that Odinga would return to Kenya on Wednesday, before reports emerged that Raila actually arrived on Sunday.
