On July 13, 2020, a tragic plane crash occurred in Machakos County, claiming the lives of two people.
Citizen TV was the first to report the incident, stating that a Kenya Air Force aircraft had crashed at Kanyonga area in Masinga, Machakos County.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, but a video obtained by Kenyans.co.ke shows the devastating wreckage of the military helicopter, with a completely damaged cockpit and broken rotor blades.
Police officers were seen securing the accident scene, trying to keep curious onlookers at bay.
The Kenya Air Force aircraft involved in the crash is typically used by the military to transport troops, food, and other humanitarian aid, as well as senior government officials.
This incident comes just a month after another plane crash in Meru County on June 13, 2020, where an AgustaWestland AW119 chopper registration number 5Y NPW crashed at a farm in Kaithe Kithoka.
