Former Puntland Leader Mohamed Abdi Hashi Passes Away in Nairobi

On a sad note, Mohamed Abdi Hashi, the former president of Somalia's Puntland state, has passed away in Nairobi, Kenya, following a prolonged illness.

Hashi served as the president of Puntland from October 2004 to January 8, 2005, marking a significant period in the region's history.

Current Puntland leader Said Deni has expressed his condolences to the people of Somalia and Puntlanders in particular, describing Hashi as the 'founding father' of the region.

As a mark of respect, the Puntland presidency has announced three days of mourning and lowered its flag to half-mast in honor of the deceased ex-president.
