On July 13, 2020, a group of youth in Kenya took to the streets to protest the Kazi Mtaani selection process, blocking Juja Road in the process.

The protesters, who were mainly young people, claimed that the selection process was unfair and marred by corruption. They alleged that some individuals had been unfairly selected for the program, while others who were more deserving were left out.

The Kazi Mtaani program is a government initiative aimed at providing temporary employment to young people during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the protesters felt that the selection process was flawed and did not take into account the needs and qualifications of the applicants.
