On July 13, 2020, South Africa lost a prominent figure with the passing of Zindzi Mandela, the youngest daughter of Nelson Mandela, the country's first black president.

At the time of her death, Zindzi Mandela served as the country's ambassador to Denmark.

According to public broadcaster SABC, Zindzi Mandela passed away at a Johannesburg hospital in the early hours of the morning.

The cause of her death was not immediately revealed.
