On Sunday evening, a couple's lifeless bodies were discovered in their home in Kaumoni Village, Nguluni location, Machakos county. The incident occurred just a day after the couple returned from Nairobi, following the lifting of cessation of movement into and out of the city by the president on Friday, July 10, 2020.

The couple, identified as Dennis Pius, 28, and Susan Ndeto, 19, were found hanging from ropes tied to their necks. The shocking discovery was made by Ndeto's mother, who had traveled from Nairobi in a frantic search for her daughter after failing to reach her on phone.

According to a police statement, Ndeto's body was found naked. The couple had been living in Kayole estate, Nairobi, before traveling to their rural village on Friday.

Ndeto's mother had repeatedly warned her daughter against her relationship with the much older man. A neighbour reported that the couple had been last seen on Sunday morning and they both looked okay, only for their house to go silent from lunch time.

The couple did not leave behind any suicide note. The two bodies were taken to Kangundo Level Four Hospital mortuary as investigations commence.
