Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu's fate is set to be sealed on Wednesday, July 14, after the Members of County Assembly asked her to appear before the House on the said day when her impeachment motion will be tabled.
The governor will be required to appear personally by 9am to answer to the accusations in her impeachment motion.
Ngilu could also have two lawyers represent her in the assembly, as per the MCAs' request.
This development came days after the High Court gave the ward reps a go-ahead in their ouster bid after Ngilu's efforts to have conservatory orders flopped.
Ngilu had moved to court on June 24, 2020, challenging the tabling and debating of the impeachment motion, arguing the ward representatives had flouted the law.
Lawyers representing the MCAs held that the governor was basically jumping the gun as the assembly was yet to debate or act on the motion seeking her removal.
Reports also indicate the county boss could choose to be represented by two lawyers who will answer to the charges against the embattled governor.
