On July 12, 2020, the Palestinian Authority took drastic measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 in the occupied West Bank. A night-time and weekend curfew was imposed for the coming 14 days in an effort to rein in rising coronavirus numbers.

The decision was made in response to the growing number of cases in the region. The Palestinian Authority hopes that this measure will help to slow the spread of the virus and protect the local population.
