Nairobi Mother's Cancer Treatment Hopes Dashed by Financial Woes

Caroline Agollah Achola, a 57-year-old Nairobi mother, has been diagnosed with stage III oesophagal cancer, but her family is struggling to raise funds for her treatment.

According to her son, Elly Otieno Achola, his mother was initially treated for ulcers at a hospital in Kisumu, but her condition worsened, and further tests revealed the cancer diagnosis.

Despite the doctors' assurance that treatment could cure her, the family's financial challenges have hindered her access to the necessary care.

Elly Achola, who works as a shamba boy, has appealed to well-wishers to help raise KSh 10,000 for the test and minor surgery to insert a feeding tube, as well as KSh 7,000 for processing the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) and a year's downpayment.

Those who wish to help can reach Elly Achola on 0792479673.
