Barcelona's title hopes have taken a hit with the news that forward Antoine Griezmann will likely miss the final two games of the season due to a thigh injury.

According to a statement from the club on Sunday, Griezmann came off at halftime during Saturday's 1-0 win over Real Valladolid with a right thigh injury.

The France international has had an underwhelming season since joining Barcelona from Atletico Madrid for a reported 120-million-euro transfer fee last year.

While the club did not provide a specific timeline for Griezmann's recovery, Spanish newspaper Sport reported that he is expected to be sidelined for three weeks, ruling him out of Thursday's home game against Osasuna and their final match, away to Alaves, next Sunday.

The win over Valladolid kept Barcelona in the title race, although leaders Real Madrid can extend their lead at the top back to four points if they beat Granada on Sunday.
