Published on July 12, 2020, a report by TIFA Research indicates a significant shift in Kenyans' attitudes towards the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the study, the percentage of respondents who are very worried about contracting the virus has decreased from 72% in April to 54% in July.

Additionally, the report notes that 54% of respondents believe that the worst of the virus is yet to come, while 38% think that the worst has already passed and things will improve under the new normal.

These findings come as Kenya prepares for a potential peak in coronavirus cases in August and September, with the Ministry of Health predicting a daily increase of over 200 cases during this period.

On July 10, Kenya recorded 447 new cases, the highest number of cases confirmed in a single day since the pandemic began in March.

As of July 11, the country's total case load stood at 9,726, with 184 fatalities and 2,832 recoveries.
