On July 12, 2020, chaos erupted at Ford Kenya's headquarters in Nairobi as armed goons stormed the building with stones.
The incident occurred along Ole Dume Road in Nairobi, where the party's leadership battle has been ongoing.
According to eyewitnesses, the goons were denied access to the building by security officers, leading them to throw stones into the building.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported from the incident.
A source within the party confirmed the incident but was unable to provide further details, citing his absence from Nairobi at the time.
"I am outside Nairobi and would have to ascertain what happened. I am just part of a secretariat and not a member, so I would have to check with the party members," the source stated.
The party has been embroiled in a leadership crisis, with a section of the team supporting party leader Moses Wetangula clashing with another team supporting Kanduyi Member of Parliament Athanas Wamunyinyi.
Wamunyinyi's team had earlier accused Wetangula of threatening and intimidating members who endorsed his removal from the party's top leadership.
