Kenya Covid-19 Infections Cross 10,000 Mark ¶
On Sunday, July 12, Kenya's Covid-19 cases rose to 10,105 after 379 individuals tested positive in the preceding 24 hours.
The Ministry of Health confirmed the 370 new cases after testing 7,050 samples.
Out of the positive cases, 376 are Kenyans while 3 are foreigners, with 253 being males, and 126 of them female and the youngest being a two-year-old child while the oldest is a 97-year-old.
The cases were distributed across various counties, with Nairobi leading with 209 cases, followed by Kiambu with 49 cases, Busia with 38 cases, and Migori with 19 cases.
According to the Ministry of Health, the 209 cases in Nairobi were distributed in Kibra (52), Lang'ata (45), Kamukunji (28), Dagoretti North and Makadara (17) cases each, Embakasi Central (9), Embakasi East (8), Westlands (7), four cases each in Dagoretti South, Embakasi West, Kasarani and Roysambu, and two cases each in Ruaraka and Embakasi South.
Unfortunately, one more patient succumbed to the disease, bringing the total fatalities from March 13, 2020, to 185.
As of July 12, 2020, the virus has claimed more than 560,000 lives globally, with infections hitting a high of 12.5 million people, and over 6.8 million people have recovered from the virus.
