As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt lives and plans, a Ugandan woman, Mary Namatovu, has taken a unique approach to protect herself from potential disappointments in her upcoming marriage.

With weddings and churches being restricted or banned in some areas, Namatovu decided to take to Facebook to announce her engagement and warn potential objectors before her big day.

On June 21, Namatovu and her fiancé, Jonathan Katamba, held a traditional introduction ceremony, and now they are awaiting their wedding day.

Before tying the knot, Namatovu posted a message on Facebook asking anyone who may be objecting to their union or who may have a claim against Katamba to come forward.

Her message read: "Hey people, his name is Jonathan Katamba, the last born of four, the most amazingly faithful surveyor, property seller and manager I know in Uganda. He says he wants to marry me. If anyone objects to this, speak now. If he is engaged to you please speak now, if he has a child with you speak now. When he marries me, please hold your peace."

It's worth noting that Namatovu and Katamba have been friends for a long time, and their relationship has been going strong.
