On July 12, 2020, a virtual funeral service was held for John Keige, a prominent Nairobi businessman and owner of Jiweke Tavern and Bourbon, who passed away on July 7, 2020.
According to reports, Keige had finished his lunch and decided to jog but collapsed outside his gate. He was rushed to Nairobi Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the funeral was a private affair attended only by family members and close friends of the deceased.
Keige is survived by his wife and five children. His cortege left Lee Funeral home at 7am on July 14, 2020, for his final resting place at the family's rural home in Muruka Kandara, Muranga County.
