Published on July 12, 2020, Jose Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur have made a bold move to sign Brazilian winger Willian, offering him a lucrative £250,000-per-week wage deal.
Willian, 31, has been a summer target for the north London club, and with his contract at Chelsea set to expire at the end of the season, Spurs are eager to secure his services.
Having previously worked with Mourinho at Chelsea, Willian could be looking to reunite with the Portuguese gaffer, who has listed him among his top priority signings for the season.
Willian has been in fine scoring form for Chelsea, netting four goals in five games since the Premier League returned from the coronavirus pandemic hiatus.
Frank Lampard recently insisted that Chelsea are confident of Willian signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge, but it appears that Spurs are willing to pay a huge sum to secure his services.
Willian has rejected a two-year contract offered to him by Chelsea, reportedly seeking a three-year deal, and it remains to be seen whether he will accept Spurs' offer.
