Terror Suspects Busted in Kapseret

On Saturday, July 11, 2020, police in Uasin Gishu County carried out a sting operation in Kapseret, arresting two terror suspects in the process.

According to reports, the suspects, 59-year-old Mohamed Ahmed Bisher and 68-year-old Nashanga Ibrahim, a foreign national, were arrested at Chepkatet in Kapseret sub-county.

During the raid, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) recovered explosives, detonators, detonating cords, safety fuses, and boosters.

The suspects are currently in police custody and will be arraigned once the investigation is completed.

Speaking on the operation, the DCI tweeted: “Sleuths carried the operation within Chepkatet village, in Kapsaret Sub-County, Uasin Gishu County where Bisher Ibrahim, a foreign, were arrested,”
