Tavern Owner John Keige Dies Outside His Home

John Keige, the owner of Jiweke Tavern in Nairobi, died outside his home in Nyari Estate on July 7, 2020, after collapsing while on his way to exercise.

According to his sister, Elizabeth Keige, John Keige had finished eating lunch and decided to go for a walk, but he collapsed near the gate of his home and was rushed to Nairobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead due to a heart attack.

Keige was the owner of Jiweke Tavern, a popular hotel in Nairobi's Ngong Road, known for its good services and facilities, including a bar, restaurant, and event spaces.

There were earlier reports that Keige had died due to COVID-19, but his doctor denied these claims, stating that he had died due to a heart attack.

Keige's funeral is scheduled to take place on July 14, 2020, at his home in Muruka Kandara, Murang'a County, in a private ceremony.
