Published on July 12, 2020, Raila Odinga's health concerns have raised questions about his participation in the upcoming Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) event.
Dr. Oburu Odinga, Raila's family spokesperson, revealed that the ODM leader will not take part in the BBI event upon his return from medical attention abroad.
According to Oburu, Raila needs time to fully recover from his health issues and will require more time in bed for a complete recovery.
Oburu also hinted that the African Union Special Envoy of Infrastructure may miss the handing over event of the BBI report, as earlier notified by the BBI Steering Committee Chairman Yusuf Haji.
"He is well and ready to come back but will not indulge in the rigorous BBI political process. He will need some rest for some time," Raila's brother asserted.
However, Raila had earlier stated that Kenyans should not worry about his health, as he was feeling very strong and rejuvenated, hinting at returning to politics soon.
"I feel really great to be out of the hospital and I'll be doing my usual jigs very soon," Mr. Odinga asserted earlier.
