On July 11, Gire, a company founded by the late husband of CEO Eunice Kaigai, launched its products in Karen, Nairobi. The products included pure cotton sanitary towels and baby oil.

According to Eunice Kaigai, the company's launch was a way to honour her late husband, who passed away a year ago. In an interview with Mpasho, she said, 'I'VE GONE THROUGH A LOT AS A WOMAN AND I’M GONNA SHOW THAT YOU CAN BE BEATEN AND BE DOWN TRODDEN BUT YOU CAN’T BE BROKEN AND THAT’S WHY I STARTED GIRE.'

The launch event was a red carpet affair, attended by local celebrities and power couples. NTV's Amina Abdi Rabar was the emcee for the evening.

Some of the notable attendees included Maureen Waititu, Wahu, and DJ Mo. The event was a celebration of the company's launch and a tribute to Eunice Kaigai's late husband.
