Published on July 12, 2020, Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has once again defended Deputy President William Ruto against looming impeachment threats in parliament.

Omanga, who has been spotted at Ruto's Karen residence on several occasions, where they have been donating items to different youth business groups, insisted that they still have the numbers to stop any kind of impeachment in the Senate.

She made the statement while accompanying Ruto on a donation tour in Nairobi, where she reaffirmed her allegiance to the Deputy President.

“We assure DP Ruto today that any kind of impeachment will be dead on arrival, Ruto still enjoys a lot of support from parliament and he has no reason to worry at all,” Omanga said.

Omanga's statement comes in sharp contrast to her previous statement in May, where she sought to distance herself from the DP and the Tanga Tanga political camp.

“I want to assure you your excellency, on the ground and in Parliament, we will stick with you and support your 2022 presidential committees. I have received a lot of harassment and threats but they will come to an end, as long as I remain alive, I will be your foot soldier,” Omanga said.
