John Keige, the owner of Jiweke Tavern Restaurant in Nairobi, has died suddenly while jogging outside his home in Nyari Estate on June 7, 2020.

A representative from the restaurant confirmed his death, stating that Keige was a good-hearted boss and the best director anyone could have asked for.

According to a report by The Standard, Keige collapsed and died of a heart attack shortly after having lunch and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Nairobi Hospital.

Speculations had earlier emerged that the businessman might have died of Covid-19, but the cause of death remains unclear.

Keige's restaurant, located off Ngong Road in Nairobi, has been in the news for its consistent good service provision and has a conferencing facility, a restaurant, and a bar section with regular events.
