Published on July 11, 2020, FC Zurich has found several positive COVID-19 cases among their staff and players, raising concerns about completing the season.

Defender Mirlind Kryeziu, 23, tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, prompting the club to quarantine the squad until July 17. The team's next two games have been postponed.

FC Zurich's first team squad and staff were tested after Kryeziu's positive result, and further positive cases were discovered. The club is in constant communication with the Swiss Football League and will analyze the next steps.

The Swiss Super League team, currently fifth in the standings, was due to host FC Sion on Saturday and visit FC Basel on Tuesday. However, both games have been postponed, and there are no spare dates before the end of the season on August 2 to reschedule them.

Neighbouring club Grasshoppers, who play in the second tier, also reported a positive case among their players.
