Kenyan Doctor, Dr Adisa Lugaliki, Dies of Covid-19

Kenya has lost a dedicated medical professional in Dr Adisa Lugaliki, who succumbed to Covid-19. The news was shared by Dr Mercy Korir, who described Dr Lugaliki as a hardworking doctor with much to offer.

Published on July 11, 2020, Dr Korir tweeted, "We have lost one of our own as a doctors' fraternity to Covid-19. A young doctor with so much to offer."

The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) also sent a condolence message to Dr Lugaliki's family, who served as an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist at The Nairobi South Hospital.

"We have lost a hard-working obstetrician/gynecologist, a mother, a friend and a colleague to the devastating effects of Covid-19," wrote KMPDU. "Our condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Doreen Lugaliki."

Dr Lugaliki's passing has sparked an outpouring of tributes from her colleagues and patients, who recall her professionalism and dedication to the medical profession.

As the country continues to grapple with the Covid-19 pandemic, health workers like Dr Lugaliki have been at the forefront of the fight, despite the risks involved.
