The Mombasa Tea Auction, held on July 6th and 7th, 2020, saw a notable increase in the amount of tea offered for sale, with 12.6 million kilograms available.
This represents a 15.7% increase from the 10.8 million kilograms offered during the same period in 2019 and a slight increase from the 12.5 million kilograms offered in the previous week.
Of the tea offered for sale, 10.5 million kilograms were sold, marking a significant increase from the 8.7 million kilograms sold in the same period in 2019 and 10.1 million kilograms in the previous sale.
Despite the increase in sales, the average price per kilogram decreased to $1.78, compared to $1.81 in the previous sale and $1.82 for the same period last year.
