Kenyan Ohangla Queen Lady Maureen Passes Away ¶
Kenyan Ohangla queen Lady Maureen has passed away after a long illness. She was 42 years old.
According to her family, Lady Maureen had been battling an unknown illness for the past two years, spending time in and out of the hospital. Her condition had worsened in recent months, with her being admitted to Pastor Machage Memorial Hospital in January 2020.
Despite her struggles, Lady Maureen remained optimistic and had expressed her desire to release new music while still alive. In a recent interview, she had mentioned that she had a lot of songs that she wanted to release.
On Saturday, July 11, at 3:21am, Lady Maureen passed away at her cousin's place in Awendo, Migori County. Her mother, Margret Akinyi Onyango, was informed of her daughter's passing and was reportedly in a state of shock.
Mike Peter Sirkal, a close friend of the family, confirmed the news of Lady Maureen's passing and stated that plans were underway to take her body to Omboo mortuary.
Lady Maureen was known for her hit songs such as 'Wangni Wabiro' and 'Raila Jakom', and had a large following in Kenya and beyond.
